We are excited to announce that the Leo Baeck Institutes in Jerusalem and London celebrated the launch of their international collaboration on the 28th of November 2023 at the German National Library in Berlin (Staatsbibliothek Unter den Linden, Berlin). The online exhibition called Library of Lost Books, a project dedicated to the Hochschule für die Wissenschaft des Judentums.
The Library of Lost Books launch event was held at the Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin (Berlin State Library), itself a testament to history, culture, and knowledge in the heart of Germany's capital. Its stunning architecture blends classical and modern elements, much like our book hunting project.
Setting up the physical event was a meticulous process involving construction of shelves and display cabinets, creating a narrative flow that guided visitors through the story of the Hochschule.
We wish to express our appreciation to the following organisations whose support has helped to bring the Library of Lost Books campaign to fruition.
Thank you to everyone at the Staatsbibliothek Berlin, whose expertise in hosting, including logistics, resourcing and co-ordination, helped the launch event run smoothly.
Thank you to Goldener Westen and to bleech for their work in producing a visually appealing and user-friendly website.
These contributions have enhanced our online presence and have thereby strengthened our mission to preserve and celebrate lost historical treasures. We thank everyone who has been involved in this endeavour.
